07:00 : 8 hours to departure – a large pile of clothes sits next to an unpacked bag
09:00 : 6 hours to departure – the bag appears half-packed
Attempted to online check-in, and realised the ESTA had expired
Applied for new US Visa/ESTA – Screen message said this can take 72 hours to process… sh!t !!
11:00 : 4 hours to departure – ESTA returns approved… Yay!! The trip is back on….
Fiji Airlines on-line check-in does not complete, and screen message now says “get to the Airport and check-in by 12pm”
11:30 : 3.5 hours to departure – unknown to Tricia, Pete sends daughter Freiya (who has suffered grief in the past for her travel preparation/packing) the above photo
I’ll happily accept my redactment of criticism (shit-giving) in writing…

11:45 : ~3 hours to departure – Check-in complete (after finding proof of ongoing destination ticket) Whew!
13:00 : 2 hours to departure – Pete drops and runs to get to his tennis match
14:00 : Passed security checks and finally able to relax
